Painting Process

Here are painting videos from my current mural project at the Institute for Creation Research, a museum in Dallas, Texas. This museum will be dedicated to explaining the history of the world according to the Bible, including the Garden of Eden, the time leading up to the Flood, Noah’s Ark and the time of the Flood, post-Flood geology, the diversity of life, the Ice Age, and the Tower of Babel.

I’m posting progress videos from each day of work, each video being a accumulation of GoPro images taken every 5 seconds. The videos will be between 1.5 minutes to 3.5 minutes and represent one 8 hour day with me painting the murals. The videos are edited to eliminate non-activity. To slow the action down (they are a bit frenetic!) go to preferences in YouTube and you can adjust the playback speed.

Also on this page there will be descriptions of my process, from the tools I use and the way I work, from paint, paint mixing, spray-gun use, my palette and brush-work. I have over 35 years of painting murals professionally, and there are tricks and tips to be shared.
